Ingredients matter. To ensure the exceptional quality of our nutritional supplements, Nutrilite farms are committed to sustainable, organic farming practices. Our approach helps us grow healthy crops with maximum nutritional value. In this installment of “Farm in Focus,” we explore Trout Lake Farm, nestled in a picturesque valley in southern Washington state.
Our farm at Trout Lake, Washington, USA
Trout Lake Farm is the largest certified organic farm in North America. Located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, the farm’s irrigation is provided by the White Salmon River, which is fed by glaciers from the mountains.
The farm covers 401 acres of land, in a small, remote valley that is entirely organic. With no conventional farming nearby, the surrounding mountains are able to naturally keep pollution and contaminants at bay.
Why go to the trouble and expense of organic farming?
Farming always causes changes to the natural area, making it possible to grow large crops of particular plants in a way that allows for commercialization. But organic practices are focused on keeping these changes to an absolute minimum.
At our farms — including Trout Lake — we work with the natural attributes of the local climate, soil, sunlight, and moisture levels, to produce just the right crops for each location. The result is exceptional quality, and retention of important phytonutrients that ultimately become a rich source of nutrition for our customers.
